There is currently 6 thousand 279 units of blood stock left in Mumbai, summer vacation is likely to affect blood collection

Mumbai, Dt. 21
Various hospitals in Mumbai require at least 900 to 1020 units of blood every day. There is currently 6,279 units of blood stock available in Mumbai and there is a possibility that the blood collection will be affected due to the summer vacation in the month of May.
There are only 56,000 units of blood available in various blood banks in the state, and the blood collection is likely to be affected due to the summer vacation. Therefore, keeping in mind the increasing need of blood, the State Blood Transfusion Council has appealed to organize blood donation camps.
During the summer holidays (April-May) citizens go to the village or outside the village in large numbers. This reduces the amount of blood donation. As a result, blood shortage occurs in the state. This year there is a possibility that blood will be needed in large quantities due to the heat of the sun.
Meanwhile, a blood donation camp has been organized through Aniruddha Bapu’s sect on 23rd April and the target of collecting 10 thousand blood bottles has been set.
