The government allows airlines to provide in-flight Wi-Fi services

The central government on Monday allowed airlines operating in India to provide in-flight Wi-Fi services to passengers, as per official notification.

“Pilot-in-command may allow the use of Internet services via a laptop, smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, e-reader or a sales device when Wi-Fi by passengers in an aircraft onboard the aircraft, so what is?” Used in flight mode or airplane mode, ”the notification states.

Taking delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 aircraft in Everett last Friday, Vistara CEO Leslie Thanx told reporters that it would be the first aircraft in India to provide in-flight Wi-Fi services.
