State-level pre-kharif season review meeting concluded

Various measures have been taken for the benefit of the farmers for the upcoming Kharif season. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde suggested here today that the Agriculture Department should be vigilant to ensure that the farmers get quality seeds and fertilizers while implementing them effectively.

A state level pre-kharif season review meeting was organized this morning at Yashwantrao Chavan Foundation Hall. At that time Chief Minister Shinde was speaking. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar, Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Gulabrao Patil, State Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik and others were present.

A good advance preparation has been made for the upcoming Kharif season. However, it should be implemented effectively. Agriculture Department should implement Quality Control Teams, Bharari Teams. It is predicted that El Nino will affect this year’s monsoon. In such a situation, farmers should not rush to sow. Chief Minister Shinde also said that farmers should decide to sow only after seeing enough rain and moisture in the soil.
