Governor Ramesh Bais asserted here that Kaushal University will play an important role in bringing about skill revolution in Maharashtra.
The ground-breaking ceremony of the new building of Maharashtra State Skill University and ITI Panvel was conducted by the Governor and Chancellor Ramesh Bais on Monday at the premises of the Industrial Training Institute in Panvel.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Skill, Tourism and Women Child Welfare Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha and Raigad District Guardian Minister Uday Samant were present on the platform.
The tribals of the state have many skills in arts, sports and industry. By giving them proper training and helping them in marketing, packaging and selling products like bamboo furniture, they will get good income. Governor Bais also suggested that Kaushal University should prepare skill development programs for women as well as government and private sector employees.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis said, the service sector in the country is continuously growing and new opportunities are being created in this sector. Manpower has to be prepared to take advantage of these opportunities. There are 15 thousand startups in the state and soon a startup hub will be created in Navi Mumbai.
Lodha assured that the new building of Kaushal University and ITI Panvel will be ready before the start of the new academic session in July. Samant expressed the hope that the first sub-centre of Kaushal University should be started at Ratnagiri and courses on tourism should be conducted there.
The program was attended by Manisha Verma, Principal Secretary of Skills Department, Chancellor of Skills University Dr. Apurva Palkar, Principal of Maharashtra State Innovation Society Dr. Ramaswamy N., Konkan Divisional Commissioner Mahendra Kalyankar, Raigad District Collector Yogesh Mhse were present.
