Finch expects India to fight back hard in second ODI

Australia captain Aaron Finch has no doubt that India will “fight back” in the second ODI here on Friday, after a blistering performance as the series opener in Mumbai. David Warner and Finch’s unbeaten century helped Australia win the hosts by 10 wickets on Tuesday.

But Finch said it would be foolish to take India lightly as world-class players. After the victory in Mumbai, Cricket.com wrote, “I think it was a very good performance. I think our fielding was a bit slow, but we were all very happy about how the boys went.”

Finch spoke about what to expect from Friday’s match, saying, “They (India) will fight without a doubt. They are a great side, some world-class players met.”

Chasing a below-par 256, David Warner (128 not out) and Finch (110 not out) shared a record opening stand as Australia could be out of the house in the first ODI.

When asked about the batting performance of his opening partner, the Australian captain said: “He (Warner) is playing incredibly well, I think it is hard for him to bowl once. He can deliver the ball.” ” Beats around the field, so he has to stop. “Scoring is so hard.

He said, “He is so clear on where he is going to bat. His footwork is quite good. His mental state is incredible when he is in the middle. He is very clear about his thoughts and his game. He is in the top order. Huh. ”

While praising his bowlers for a great performance in the middle overs, Finch hinted that Josh Hazlewood might get a chance to rest either Pat Cummins or Mitchell Starc in the second ODI.

“It’s fantastic to be able to control such a damaging top order with their length. The ball was enough to keep them in the game at all times. They were so accurate that you have to be in these situations,” he said. said.

“The bowling line-up will obviously be discussed with Josh (Hazelwood). With back-to-back games and a very quick and fairly heavy test load, I’m sure Josh will come for one of them (Cummins). Or stark) at some point.
