Cyclone VAYU forces Bhuteshwar Mahadev temple near Porbandar to meet the grounds
Hitting the coastal areas of the state as speculated, Cyclone Vayu has forced the old Bhuteshwar Mahadev temple near Porbandar’s coastal area to meet the grounds abide the strong winds and sea waves.
A part of the century old temple has suffered severe damages following the storm that got heavy winds and powerful waves along, heading in some other direction now.
Meanwhile standing strong to face the consequences ahead, CM Rupani said, “According to IMD bulletin, Cyclone Vayu which was going to hit Gujarat has moved towards Oman. But still for 24 hrs administration will be on high alert, schools of 10 districts will stay closed abide”.

Gujarat government’s Additional Secretary Pankaj Kumar said that there was no news of either being injured or killed due to Cyclone Vayu. “The cyclone has no effect on the airports of Gujarat at the moment. Also the situation is normal in Surat, Bhuj, Keshod, Kandla, Jamnagar, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Air is running at the speed of 30-40 km / hour at the airport of Diu, Porbandar and Bhavnagar. The situation is closely monitored”, he added.
However, strong winds continue to move in the area where sea waves also are consistently turning angerous. Fishermen there have claimed that at least 40 to 45 boats have been damaged due to the cyclone effect in the Veraval coastal area of the district.
