‘Best’ decision to start 200 e bus in Mumbai

The BEST administration plans to start 200 e-buses soon on some important routes in Mumbai. On January 14, 2023, at least 10 double-decker e-buses will be brought to Mumbai.
The transport authority plans to launch the BEST taxi service with 500 electric vehicles by June next year and tenders have been floated for the same.

In Mumbai, BEST’s premium bus service will soon start on the route from Bandra Kurla Complex to Kharghar in Navi Mumbai. Premium buses of BEST will also be started on two routes from Chembur to Cuffe Parade, Thane to Powai. Passengers have to reserve their seat through Chalo app while traveling in this bus.
These buses will be completely digital. Since the service in the buses is completely digital, these premium buses will not have a bus conductor and passengers will have to use the Chalo card to use the tap-in tap-out facility, the BEST administration said.
