Action against ticketless passengers in air-conditioned local, first class coaches; 86 lakhs fine was recovered

The Central Railway Administration has initiated action against free passengers in air-conditioned local, first class coaches and has collected a fine of Rs 86 lakh from these free passengers.
The increase in the number of ticketless passengers in air-conditioned local, first class coaches of Central Railway is causing inconvenience to ticketed passengers. Therefore, ticket inspection teams are working. A fine of 86 lakh rupees was collected from 20 thousand ticketless passengers in the action taken in the month of April.
Infiltration of ticketless passengers had increased as there was no ticket checking in first class coaches, air-conditioned locales. Daily ticket checking has been tightened to curb this.
Bharari teams of ticket inspectors are going to every railway station, checking every local compartment. Mumbai Division found 20 thousand 760 ticketless passengers in the month of April 2023. A fine of Rs 86 lakh 18 thousand 828 was recovered from them.
