Abolition of increased service charge levied on cessable buildings of MHADA – Announcement by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, Dt. 8
The increased monthly service charge levied on cessed buildings of ‘MHADA’ in Mumbai has been cancelled. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday that only Rs 250 will be charged at the old rate. According to the new rate, Rs 665 50 paise was charged.
Devendra Fadnavis announced this while replying to a question asked by BJP MLA And Ashish Shelar.
Fadnavis also clarified that redevelopment plan will be implemented soon for these buildings which have become dangerous.
Property tax waived off for 500 square feet houses in Mumbai. Even houses in slums are not subject to property tax. We give them a house in redevelopment. Then why this tax only for the cessed buildings of MHADA? MLA Ashish Shelar had requested that it be waived or nominally accepted.
