A multi-facility hospital with 900 beds will be constructed on the site of Thane District Government Hospital. The ground-breaking ceremony of this hospital is tomorrow (April 22).
It will be held by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
After deciding to make a multi-facility hospital on the site of this hospital, the proposal was prepared by Thane District Surgeon Dr. Kailas Pawar. The old masonry building was demolished on April 12. Narayan Vitthal Sayanna donated this building for the hospital in memory of his father Vitthal Sayanna.
The new hospital will have a 500-bed district hospital, 200-bed services each, and a women’s and children’s hospital. State-of-the-art treatment facilities like Neurology, Oncology and Onco Surgery Section, Cardiology and Cardio Vascular Section and Nephrology and Dialysis Section will be available at this place. Cancer, heart disease, brain related diseases, respiratory related diseases will also be treated.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Kapil Patil, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Tanaji Sawant, Guardian Minister of Thane District Shambhuraj Desai, Public Works Department Minister Ravindra Chavan will be present.
