Warning bell for West Bengal, MHA issues advisory on increasing violence in state

Reeling under the nuisance of undemocratic rule, the state of West Bengal has turned into a Kurukshetra of violence. The unabated violence in the past few weeks have slated the failure of West Bengal police to maintain law and order in the state. Taking cognizance of the continuous violence, the Centre has strongly advised the state government to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to maintain law and order, peace and public tranquillity in the state.

The Home Ministry has issued an advisory to the state government following the continuous. The unabated violence over the past weeks appears to be a failure on the part of the law enforcement machinery of the state to maintain the rule of law and inspire confidence among people.

Even after the conclusion of Lok Sabha elections, there are has a streak of violent activities in West Bengal. Expressing ‘deep concern’, the advisory issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that it “appears to be a failure” on the part of the law enforcement machinery of the state. The advisory which asked the state to take all necessary steps to ensure peace, came a day after at least four persons were killed on Saturday in post-poll clashes in North 24 Parganas district.

“The unabated violence over the past weeks appears to be a failure on the part of the law enforcement machinery of the state to maintain the rule of law and inspire confidence among people,” the advisory said. “It is strongly advised to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to maintain law and order, peace and public tranquillity. It is also requested to take strict action against officials found delinquent in the discharge of their duty,” it said.

Having a close view on the existing situation, it has been taken into consideration that the violence in the state has been increasing uncontrollably. After TMC’s hard-hitting disaster in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s surge has pumped up giving worst nightmares to the Mamata Banerjee led party.
