The reservoir that supplies water to Mumbai has enough water for 25 days

Mumbai, Dt. 1
The seven lakes that supply water to Brihanmumbai have only enough water left for the next 25 days.
Mumbai is supplied with water from seven lakes namely Urdhva Vaitrana, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Madhya Vaitrana, Bhatsa, Vihar, Tulsi.

Out of this, the usable water storage in Urdhwa Vaitrana Lake has come to zero. Modak Sagar Lake has 28.83 percent, Tansa Lake 25.06 percent, Central Vaitrana Lake 10.67 percent, while Bhatsa, Vihar and Tulsi Lakes have 11.19, 27.90 and 32.18 percent water reserves respectively. .

Therefore, Mumbaikars will have to quench their thirst from the available water supply only until there is enough rain. 3,800 million liters of water is supplied to Brihanmumbai every day. After the onset of monsoon, the water level in the lakes will increase only after there is a lot of rain in all the lake areas.

Meanwhile, the municipal administration has sent a letter to the state government to utilize the reserves of Bhatsa and Urdhwa Vaitrana lakes. But the government has not yet taken any decision on this letter.
