The deceased child hailed from Bhiwandi and was suffering from fever, cold and cough since November 7. He died on November 17 at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Hospital.
There has been an outbreak of measles in Mumbai for two months. On November 18, 32 patients were admitted to the hospital, and since November 7, 137 patients have been admitted to the hospital. Since November 4, 46 people have been discharged from the hospital after treatment.
