Spontaneous Response of Mumbaikars to BMC ‘SBI’ Half Marathon Promotion

Mumbaikars responded enthusiastically to the ‘Fit Mumbai Brihanmumbai Mahapalika ‘SBI’ Half Marathon Promo Run’ activity organized by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation today. About 4 thousand 200 citizens in the age group of 12 to 84 years participated in it.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner (Projects) P. Velrasu, Deputy Managing Director, State Bank of India B. Shankar, Mumbai Metro Circle’s Chief General Manager G.S.Rana flagged off the marathon promo-run.

Officials and employees of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, State Bank of India, Indian Navy and Mumbai Police Force also participated. Today’s ‘Promo-Run’ was organized in three distances namely 3 km, 5 km and 10 km.

Band of Indian Navy was present at the entrance of Asiatic and Band of Brihanmumbai Police Force was present near Amar Jawan Smriti Stambha to boost the spirit of the runners participating in today’s promo-run.

An orchestra group of fifty students from Brihanmumbai Municipal Schools also performed. Municipal school students presented Lazeem demonstrations. 84-year-old Ratanchand Oswal ran 10 km.

The main half marathon will be organized on 17th December 2023 and the online registration of this half marathon was launched by Additional Municipal Commissioner P Velrasu.
