Snipping with the sniper rifles, Indian Army all set to retaliate Pakistan for ceasefire violation

In spite of having a strong call on violation of ceasefire, the Pakistan Army still continues targeting Line of Control only to get a befitting reply by the Indian force. Off lately it has been notified that the Indian Army has been targeting the Pakistan Army with state-of-the-art sniper rifles along the Line-of-Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The sniper rifle fire is being directed towards Pakistani posts involved in violating the ceasefire agreement.

The new sniper rifles are provided to the Indian Army by positioning them against Pakistan who has been attacking Indian posts and personnels violating ceasefire. The rifles involved in the Indian action against Pakistani troops are the Finnish Lapua Magnum and a rifle made by the Italian company Beretta. Both these rifle were procured by the Indian Army recently on a fast track basis.

The new rifles were purchased directly by the army’s Northern Command under financial powers granted to the commanding-in-chief of the Northern Command. Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh is the current commanding-in-chief of the Northern Command. The damage caused by the sniper rifle fire is yet to be ascertained.

The development comes in the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan post the February 14 Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force were martyred. In response, the Indian Air Force carried out an airstrike deep inside Pakistan, targeting the largest terror camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammed, which carried out the Pulwama attack.
