Mumbai, Dt. 17 To pay tribute to late Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray on the eve of his memorial day, a program called ‘Varasa Vichanacha’ was organized at the Savarkar Auditorium of the Swatantra Veer Savarkar National Memorial in Dadar on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Working President of the Independence Veer Savarkar National Memorial and Ranjit Savarkar, grandson of Veer Savarkar, some ministers of the state cabinet, BJP’s Mumbai president Ashish Shelar and others were present on the occasion.
Publication of two volumes ‘Savarkar Vismritiche Padsad’ and ‘Savarkar Ek Controversial Warsa’ translated into Marathi by Ranjit Savarkar and Treasurer Manjiri Marathe, Working President of Freedom Veer Savarkar National Memorial.
It was done by Chief Minister Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis. These are translations of these original English books written by Vikram Sampat.
Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Shinde said, Rahul Gandhi made a derogatory statement about the independence hero Savarkar, who laid down his life to liberate India from independence, suffered the punishment of black water, and endured tyranny for 11 years. Congress deliberately ignored the views of Swatantra Veer Savarkar. It continues till today. Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis warned that those who defied Savarkar will not be buried in the ground.
