Rape attempt in Naval Colony

ON 18th November around 10.30 at night, there was an attempted rape of a married woman in Naval Colony at Kanjurmarg, Mumbai. The woman was at her house when a drunkard by the name of Chetan Kasabe tried to break in and rape her.

He was chased by the public and was beaten mercilessly. The people then handed him over to the Security Staff of the Naval Colony. In this altercation, one woman sustained a severe injury on her hand. However, in shocking aftermath, the Naval security staff, Pradhan and Vinod Pandey, along with Parrksite Police officials pressurised the women not to file a formal complaint and press charges.

Therefore, in the absence of any formal complaint or charges, the accused was let off scot-free in the morning
