So far more than 125 people have died in these states. Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat are receiving heavy rains, torrential rains have been disrupting life for a few days. According to the information received, till Thursday 55 people died in Kerala, 27 in Maharashtra, 22 in Gujarat, 24 in Karnataka and many more. The Meteorological Department has again warned of heavy rains in the southern states.

Torrential rains have affected public property. The houses were also badly damaged. Army rescue teams have been instructed to expedite aid. In Kerala, torrential rains continue, floods and landslides and rain-related accidents have so far 57 people died and more than one lakh people have been safely shifted to the camps.

Yet 24 people have died in rain-related incidents. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has estimated loss of 6000 crores in flood after torrential rains. He said that it was the biggest flood in 45 years. We have demanded Rs 3000 crore for the center. Some villages need to be completely rebuilt.
