PM Modi urged ‘Matadata’ should enrich the Lok Sabha elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people to enrich the Lok Sabha elections with their active participation. In a series of tweets, he urged countrymen to be a part of this election. Election commission of India has announced the poll schedule in New Delhi last evening.

To elect the 17th Lok Sabha of the country. World’s largest festival of democracy will begin from 11th of next month. Ninety crore electorates of 29 states and 7 Union territories will elect 543 Lok Sabha members in seven phases from 11th April to 19th May. Simultaneously, Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will also take place. The Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the entire country with the announcement of the polls.

Youngsters who are the part of this election first time should participate enthusiastically. Modi called upon first-time voters to vote in record numbers and hoped that this election witnesses a historic turnout.

Political parties have welcomed the declaration of elections for the 17th Lok Sabha.

Best wishes to the Election Commission, all those officials and security personnel who will be on the field, across the length and breadth of India assuring smooth elections.

“The festival of democracy, Elections are here.” Said Prime Minister he urge fellow Indians to enrich the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with their active participation.

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has said that final call to increase the number of polling stations where voter-verifiable paper audit trail, VVPAT slips are matched with EVM results will be taken after the Indian Statistical Institute submits a report on it.

PM Wishes all political parties and candidates the very best for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Twenty-two states and Union territories will have single phase elections, while 4 states will go to polls in two phases. States undergoing in three phases are Assam and Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand while Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha will have four-phase polling. Jammu and Kashmir will have five phases and West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh will have seven phases.Counting will be held on the 23rd of May.

Chief Election Commissioner said assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will not be held with the Lok Sabha elections.
