Municipal Corporation’s appeal to celebrate this year’s Ganeshotsav in an environment-friendly manner

This year’s (September 19 to September 28, 2023) public Ganeshotsav should be celebrated in a more environment-friendly manner, Deputy Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Ganeshotsav Coordinator Ramakant Biradar appealed here today on Wednesday.
He was speaking while guiding the attendees during a special meeting organized in the auditorium of the Municipal Corporation’s ‘F South’ Division office. Deputy Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Police Force Akbar Pathan, Dr. Subhash Dalvi, State Coordinator of Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan of Maharashtra State, Ajit Kumar Ambhi, Assistant Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Naresh Dahibavkar of Brihanmumbai Public Ganeshotsav Coordination Committee, Suresh Sarnobat of Akhil Public Ganeshotsav Federation and representatives of various organizations of Ganesha Mandal and sculpture associations were present in this meeting. were present in large numbers.
The special meeting was organized in line with the ban on ‘Plaster of Paris’ (POP) idols implemented by the Central Pollution Control Board. At the beginning of this meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ramakant Biradar informed the attendees about the guidelines given by the Central Pollution Control Board. The representatives of various organizations present at the meeting discussed the pros and cons in detail.
The newly appointed ‘State Coordinator’ of Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan (Civil) Dr. Subhash Dalvi was felicitated by the representatives of various organizations present on his appointment at the state level. The representatives of Ganeshotsav Mandal mentioned in the meeting that the Nirmalya Kalash scheme which was successfully implemented by Dalvi about 30 years ago in Mumbai is being implemented across the country today.
