Municipal Abhay Yojana for property tax arrears – property tax arrears of around eighteen hundred crores

The Municipal Corporation has decided to implement Abhay Yojana for property tax arrears in Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation limits.
This scheme will be implemented from 15th June to 31st July. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Dr. Bhausaheb Dangde said.
75% penalty amount will be waived if the taxpayer pays the current year’s tax demand penalty, 25% interest along with full arrears in one lump sum. The tax payers will be able to avail this scheme from 15 June to 31 July 2023. About eighteen hundred crores of property tax for the past several years is with the arrears. Commercial tax is the highest arrears. Some of the cases have been litigated, entangled in family disputes. The administration is hampered in tax collection. Commissioner Dangde expressed the belief that about 200 to 250 crores of revenue will be obtained from Abhay Yojana.
