Marathi subject will no longer be compulsory due to the government’s decision that the merits of Marathi are not worthy of consideration – demand to withdraw the decision immediately

Mumbai, Dt. 20
The government has recently issued a government decision clarifying that the marks of Marathi will not be taken into account in their combined mark sheet for students of classes VIII to X in non-state education board schools. Due to this, Marathi subject will not be compulsory. Therefore, it is demanded that this decision be withdrawn immediately
It has been done by the Movement and Maharashtra Cultural Alliance for the wider interest of Marathi.
Due to this decision, there was a demand that Marathi subject should be compulsory in the state, which was originally made up to 12th standard, but which was made compulsory only up to 10th, it will have no meaning and if the marks of Marathi are not considered in the mark sheet, then compulsory Marathi will not automatically be considered. The lead contends that the compulsion imposed by the decision has been removed by this second decision.
Therefore, the chief organizer and member of the State Language Advisory Committee Dr Shripad Bhalchandra Joshi has demanded that this decision should be withdrawn and a government decision should be issued that the marks of Marathi will be admissible in the mark sheet. In a letter sent to School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
