Farmers will now be able to take insurance for only one rupee – Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced here today that farmers can now get crop insurance for just one rupee. He also informed that farmers will be given 12 thousand rupees every year.
Fadnavis was speaking while presenting the state budget in the budget session of the legislature.
According to the earlier scheme, two percent of the crop insurance premium was taken from the farmers. However, now no burden of crop insurance premium will be imposed on the farmers. Farmers can now get crop insurance for just one rupee. Fadnavis said that the state government will bear the burden of Rs 3312 crore for this.
Fadnavis said that the state government will add Rs.6,000 to the aid of Rs.6,000 received from the central government every year, and said that farmers are suffering from numerous problems like climate change, unseasonal rain, drought and even though there are many solutions for sustainable agriculture, they need the right help. . Our role is to always stand with the farmers.
In order to supply electricity to the farmers during the day, 30 percent of the power lines will be converted into solar energy in the next three years. This will benefit about 9.50 lakh farmers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, agricultural pumps will be provided to one and a half lakh farmers in the next year. Fadnavis also said that the pending 86,000 agricultural pump holders will be given immediate electricity connections.
