CSR fund will achieve balanced development of tribal areas – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Government committed to all-round development of tribal areas.

Mumbai, 25th : The government is trying hard to bring the tribal society into the mainstream. Various schemes are being implemented for that. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today assured that the government is committed for the overall development of tribal areas and balanced development will be achieved through the use of CSR funds.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was speaking at a conference organized by Department of Tribal Development and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at Sahyadri Guest House.

Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis said, to bring the tribal society into the mainstream of development, education and health services must be made available quickly. CSR funds should be used for balanced development and not spent only in metropolitan areas. Also, more funds should be contributed in education and health sector through this fund.

Tribal society has a long history and cultural heritage. This society had rules, laws and values. But in the course of time, this society fell behind. Many schemes are being implemented by the central and state governments to bring this society into the mainstream. New hope is being created in their lives through these schemes. Chief Minister Shri Fadnavis also said on this occasion that the government is implementing various schemes to provide nutrition to pregnant mothers and children.

About 9.5% of the total population of Maharashtra belongs to the tribal community while 10% of the total tribal population of the country resides in Maharashtra. Hence, Maharashtra is seen as a state with a large number of tribals. Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis said.

Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis congratulated the department. He also welcomed and thanked all the delegates who participated in the conference organized by the department.

Tribal Development Minister Dr. Ashok Uike said, we are working under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. CSR for Change, a social partnership initiative, has been undertaken for the first time through the tribal department. We will use our social responsibility partnership for the upliftment of tribal brothers. On the occasion of today’s event, he said that corporate social responsibility partnership will strengthen hands for its schemes.

Secretary of Tribal Development Department Vijay Waghmare in the introduction gave information about the plans of Tribal Development Department and how efforts are being made at the government level for the upliftment of tribal brothers. Finally, Rajendra Bharud thanked. Tribal Development Minister Dr. Ashok Uike, Secretary of Tribal Development Department Vijay Waghmare, Secretary of Industry Department P. Anbalgan, Commissioner of Tribal Research and Training Institute Dr. Rajendra Bharud, Commissioner Leena Bansod were present. Representatives of various companies presented their views in the seminar held on this occasion. The seminar was moderated by Sritama Guptbhaya, Program Head, United Nations Development Programme.
