Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a 36-year-old man from a septic tank of a public toilet in Dombivili town in Thane district, Maharashtra.
The dead body of Prakash Babu Gansavant was taken out by Kalyan Dombivili Municipal Corporation firemen and sent for post-mortem, Inspector AS Dhuri of Tilak Municipal Police Station said.
The officer said that the deceased, who worked as a driver, fit and may have accidentally fallen down the toilet, which was not functional.
He said the police denied any hooliganism in the case, adding that the family of the deceased had not reported him missing, as he often went on tours.
