Deven Bharti took charge

Deven Bharti assumed charge as Special Commissioner of Police, Mumbai on Thursday. For the first time in the history of Mumbai Police, the post of ‘Special Commissioner of Police’ has been created.

Before assuming charge, Bharti met Law and Order Department Joint Commissioner of Police Satyanarayan Chaudhary and Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar at Brihanmumbai Police Commissioner’s office.

Bharti is a 1994 batch Indian Police Service officer and is considered close to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
