MMRDA has started the tender process to open this new option of transportation by digging two subways between Thane and Borivali under the land of Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
MMRDA has planned to complete these works in the next four years. It currently takes one to one and a half hours to cover the 24 km distance from Tikuji-ni-Wadi in Thane to Borivali Magathane by vehicle. This distance will be reduced by 11.84 km under the National Park
This subway will be constructed from Borivali-Magathane-Ekta Nagar near Tikuji-ni-wadi in Thane Manpada.ubways will have a total of six lanes with three lanes in each subway.
