800 Crores of ST Employees Provident Fund, gratuity pending

Mumbai, Dt. 24
Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation Employees Provident Fund, gratuity amount of Rs 800 crore is still pending.
In order to financially empower the State Transport (ST) Corporation, funds should be made available for the salaries of the corporation employees for the next 4 years, the state government had told the High Court through an affidavit during the strike.
However, due to insufficient funds coming from the state government for the last 11 months, dues of Rs 800 crores of provident fund (PF) and gratuity of ST employees are pending.
The monthly income of ST Corporation is creating a deficit every month to meet other expenses including salaries. It was announced that that amount would be given as financial assistance to the corporation by the state government. However, there is a deficit of around Rs 1,600 crore in the last 11 months.
The ST Corporation has reported this matter to the state government and the ST Corporation has not yet received the difference amount, it was said by the employees union.
