Following the footsteps of Roopa Ganguly and Locket Chatterjee, veteran Bengali cine star Moushumi Chatterjee on Wednesday officially join the fold of BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls. On this occasion, West Bengal in-charge and National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya was present.
In 2004, the 70-year old actress started her political career with Congress and contested Lok Sabha polls. Along with the Bengali, Moushumi also featured in various Hindi movies.
Speaking to the media after her official induction, Chatterjee said that she is ready for any task assigned by the BJP leadership. National President Amit Shah also welcomed the actor turned politician and extended best wishes.
According to media reports, Moushumi Chatterjee will play a crucial role in upcoming Lok Sabha Polls where BJP is keen to multiply its political base in the eastern state.
