The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested four accused in an on-going investigation of a case.

The instant case was registered on 15.07.2022 against five accused residents of Latur (Maharashtra), New Delhi, Ghaziabad & Mumbai/Belgaum. It was alleged that the accused, resident of Latur (Maharashtra) falsely impersonated himself as a senior CBI officer (claiming to be posted at CBI HQ, New Delhi) and entered into a conspiracy with other accused, allegedly, for cheating private persons by falsely assuring them for arrangement of seats in RajyaSabha, appointment as Governor, appointment as Chairman in different Government run organisations under Central Government ministries and departments against huge pecuniary considerations.

Searches were conducted at seven locations including at Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka which led to recovery of incriminating material including WhatsApp conversations and other evidences.The arrested accused were produced before the Competent Court at Delhi on 22 and 23.07.2022. Presently, the accused are on bail.
