The ‘national flag’ is a matter of identity for millions of Indians. Using it for any other purpose, with few exceptions, is a cognisable and non-bailable offense. However, the Tricolour masks made by Kapoor’s company like the national flag are being sold on e-commerce websites such as India Mart, Red-Bubble and Snap-Deal. Also, ‘Flipkart’ and ‘My Flower Tree’ websites are selling ‘T-shirts’ shaped like Tricolour in shops and on the streets. Doing so is an offense punishable under the ‘Indian Flag Code’. Therefore, on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s ‘Surajya Abhiyan’, Dr. Manoj Solanki demanded that action must be taken against those who sell ‘masks’, ‘T-shirts’ etc. made like the national flag. In this regard it has also been sent to Amit Shah, Union Home Minister.
