Saying no to ministerial post and heavy duty, the outgoing Finance Minister notes to support the regime informally

He who served the governmnet through his intellects.. he who triggered India to remain amongst the top financial spots.. and he who, on behalf of the nation, ultimately dreamt of a 5 trillion dollar economy, is now willing to acquire no post in the Modi government’s second term of office.

Arun Jaitley, in a letter to the PM Narendra Modi said that he would like to stay away from any responsibility in the Modi government’s second term in office. Citing health reasons for his decision, Jaitley said staying away from any responsibility will help him concentrate on his treatment and health.

“I have today written a letter to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, a copy of which I am releasing,” Jaitley said, posting an image of his letter to PM Narendra Modi over the social media.

“It had been an honour and a learning experience to be part of the Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government. In the last year-and-a-half, I have been facing some serious health challenges. My doctors have enabled me to emerge out of most of them,” he added before placing his request.

“I am writing to you to formally request you that I should be allowed a reasonable time for myself, my treatment and my health and, therefore, not be part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new government,” the letter read adding that he would undertake any work informally to support the government or the party.

The ever abled Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been keeping unwell for a large part of the last two years of the Modi government’s first time. He took a three-month break from work last year after undergoing a kidney transplant surgery, when Piyush Goyal served as the interim finance minister.
