Reel ‘Jhansi ki Raani’ turns for real; Slams Italian govt for poor India

The lady known for her honest stand, known for her boldness and veracity, has again proved herself to be lively and loud enough to support advancement and nation’s evolution. While casting her vote at Mumbai yesterday, the reel ‘Jhansi ki Raani’ took potshots on Congress, alleging them of keeping the country poor when in rule.

Ranaut also urged people to vote for India and went on to say that India is truly independent today, free from the rule of an Italian government. The actress used the word ‘Italian’ referring to Sonia Gandhi, who has her roots in Italy, and led the Congress for nearly two decades.

The Manikarnika actor who calls herself a nationalist, said, “I feel India is gaining its independence in the real sense of the term today because before this, we were servants of Mughal, British and Italian governments. So please exercise your right and vote.”

Slamming the Congress party for the India they created, she said, “Till Congress was in power, the country was in an abyss never seen before- from poverty, pollution, to rapes. So, one should go in large numbers and vote for India”.

The actress in the past has shown support for PM Narendra Modi and had expressed her admiration over his leadership abilities. She had also been very vocal about her political views and had recently banged on her colleagues for not taking a stand. She had specifically called out to actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for refusing to talk on politics, wanting them to be responsible abide.

Ranaut last appeared in Manikarnika : The Queen Of Jhansi and will be next seen in the biopic of late politician Jayalalitha playing the titular role.
