Following ‘Mahavitran’, Adani and Tata have also filed a petition with the State Electricity Regulatory Commission for hike in electricity rates. The petition will be heard next month.
After that, the rate hike will be implemented in the month of March and the customers will get the electricity bill as per the new rate from the month of April.
Current Average Electricity Supply Rate (Cost of Supply) 7. 27 per unit is Rs. Fuel adjustment charge burden in 2023-24 and rising coal prices since last year are likely to increase power rates.
With the increase in electricity rates, the electricity bill of Mumbaikars will increase by Rs. 50 .
