Karnataka By-polls: with 4 out of 5 seats, Congress-JD(S) steals the show; BJP loses Bellary

Bengaluru: Congress-JD(S) coalition today swept the prestigious Karnataka By-polls and bagged 4 out of 5 seats.

The ruling alliance snatched the traditional Bellary Lok Sabha segment, a BJP bastion earlier represented by mining baron Sreeramulu. VS Ugrappa of Congress with the huge margin of 2,41,656 votes ensured the ouster of BJP’s J Shantha.

In Mandya, JD(S) candidate LR Shivaramegowda has won the parliamentary seat with a margin of 3,24,943 votes. BJP’s BY Raghavendra, son of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa registered a thumping victory with the margin of 52148 votes.

Anitha Kumaraswamy, wife of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy won Ramanagaram assembly segment with a margin of 109137 votes. with a margin of 39480 votes, Anand Siddu Nyamagouda of Congress emerged victorious from Jamkhandi assembly seat

On November 3, the by-polls for 3 Lok Sabha and 2 Assembly segments were held.
