Ganesha devotees should not allow water pollution to occur during Ganesh immersion: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Maharashtra on his one-day visit, laid the foundation stone of three metro lines in Mumbai. After that while addressing a gathering at the ‘Geo World Center Mega Convention Center’ at Bandra Kurla Complex, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Ganesh devotees should avoid polluting the water and do not put plastic and other waste into the sea.

The Prime Minister said, “As Lokmanya Tilak said, Swarajya is my birthright. We are going to get independence for 75 years, so now we should say that ‘Surajya’ is our duty. Modi began his one-day tour by visiting Lord Ganesha in the suburb Vile Parle.

Modi also unveiled the state-of-the-art metro coach, the first metro in India. Modi said, “I would like to make a suggestion for” an Indian-one resolution “. We need to protect the environment and do not use single-use plastic. We have to avoid water pollution. During the immersion of Ganesha, a pile of plastic and other wastes goes into the sea. We have to stop it.”

The Prime Minister said that the NDA government has taken many “historical and unprecedented decisions” in the first 100 days of its second term, and added that the time has come to implement “one Indian-one resolution”. Ganesh Utsav is celebrated every year in Maharashtra for 10/11 days in the month of Bhadrapada according to the Hindu calendar.
