Tamil Nadu’s fishermen and Sri Lankan Navy always have a strained situation. India and Sri Lanka are both working on this issue but yet they are unsuccessful in this matter. Yesterday, again 9 Tamil Nadu fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for allegedly fishing in the Lankan waters.
The fisheries department official said, the nine fishermen from Jegadapattinam in Pudukottai district had ventured into the sea in two boats and were fishing near Neduntheevu in Sri Lanka’s national waters when they were captured by the Lankan Navy personnel.
