CM Devendra Fadnavis chaired a meeting to review the progress of affordable housing (Urban) initiative. Ministers Prakash Mehta, Ravindra Waikar and officials from Housing, SRA, MHADA and other depts were present. Creation of new housing stock with various new provisions in SRA, revised DCR Rules, redevelopment of MHADA schemes, housing on PPP mode, #PMAY , relaxation in CRZ was discussed in this meeting. Till March 2019, rehabilitation of 29,225 tenements will be completed under SRA, informed SRA officials. CM Devendra Fadnavis directed to give separate police force to SRA and to bring environment clearances under Right to Services Act. CM directed to make MHADA the Planning Authority for all ongoing and for all future schemes in Mumbai & MMR.
CM directed to constitute a committee of UD and Revenue Secretaries to review pending proposals every month and also to have a mechanism to keep quality control.
