Bombay High Court asked MSRDC to consider deploying ambulance on Bandra-Worli Sea Link

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday asked the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to consider deploying an ambulance on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

A bench of Justice SC Dharmadhikari and RI Chagla held that many people limit the flow of Brezenly flows at sea links, which can lead to accidents and hence the presence of an ambulance is necessary.

The court was hearing public interest litigation filed by the NGO Association to add justice to the lack of emergency medical services for accident victims on the highways.

The petition highlights the death toll on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and other state and national highways, pointing to the urgent need for well-equipped ambulances and trauma centers.

MSRDC told the court on Wednesday that it has now deployed ambulances at various points on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

The bench asked MSRDC counsel Vijay Patil to find out whether ambulances were also deployed along the routes set by the corporation within the city limits including the C-Link.

“Sea Link sees many cars violating speed limits. Cameras installed may impose fines, but what if an accident happened? We have no sympathy or compassion for individuals (who have set speed limits) Would have reduced) but these individuals kill others in accidents, ”said Justice Dharmadhikari.

“It would be better if facilities like ambulances are provided. It can also act as a deterrent,” the court said.

The bench disposed of the petition after directing MSRDC to consider its suggestion.
