A 16-year-old girl died in a fire at Mumbai’s Dadar.

Today a 16-year-old girl died in a fire at a building in Mumbai’s Dadar. The incident took place at the Dadar police station compound. The blaze erupted around 1 pm in one of the quarters on third floor of the five-storey building located in the compound. Four fire engines and three water tankers were rushed to the spot. Several electrical wirings, installations and household items were gutted.

A fire brigade official said the girl was alone at home and may have died due to suffocation. Also The disaster management department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation confirmed that a 16-year-old girl died in the incident.Someone spotted smoke coming out of a house and alerted the residents. The building was quickly evacuated.Efforts were underway to bring the fire under control and the cause of the blaze is yet to ascertained.
