Srinagar: At least eight Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and over 40 injured after terrorists targeted a convoy with an explosive at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district today, reports said.
Terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the attack. Fifteen of the injured are said to be in a critical condition.
It is believed that an improvised explosive device was the cause of the explosion at Goripora area. According to news agency ANI, gunshots were reported from the scene after the blast occurred. The injured have been moved to the army base hospital in Srinagar. Ex
