The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ernakulam (Kerala) has sentenced Shri Vikas Gumber, Chief Manager, SBI, Inspection Department, Bangalore to undergo two years Simple Imprisonment with total fine of Rs.2 lakh in a bribery case.
CBI had registered the case on 28.07.2012 against Shri Vikas Gumber, Chief Manager, SBI Inspection Department, Bangaore(Karnataka) on a complaint. It was alleged that the accused demanded an amount of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant as a motive for awarding higher grade to SBI, ADB, Chalakudy, in the Internal Audit Wing, which was conducted by the accused. The complainant also alleged that the accused demanded Rs. 40,000/- from the Dy. Manager of the same branch for the said purpose. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant on 29.07.12.
After Investigation , charge sheet was filed before the Court of Special Judge -II, CBI, Ernakulam on 19.04.2013 against the accused.
The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
