Visuals of a vision: See how the upcoming Jallianwala Bagh memorial will inspire us

India’s history has many glorious pages. The freedom fight is one of the most magnificent pages of Indian history which shows us that’ justice never dies’. But today, India is celebrating the centenary of an event perceived as one of the highest sacrifices in the Indian freedom movement. Today is remembrance day of ‘Jallianwala Bagh massacre”.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu paid homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He expressed, “I feel extremely humbled as I pay my homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives fighting the evil hegemony of oppressive British rule. I salute the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on this very spot 100 years ago”.

He said, “May this legacy inspires every Indian to achieve greater heights of resolute resistance of oppression and exploitation”

To commemorate the centenary of this event, the Indian government is taking the initiative of reconstruction and beautification of the Jallianwala Bagh memorial. This initiative was taken under the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust which was amended recently.

Under this act, the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust gave some recommendations

  1. Construction of 7-D digital theatre for documentary screening
  2. Musical fountain in remembrance of the event
  3. Maintenance of the martyrs’ wall
  4. Preservation of bullet holes
  5. Printing of literature for guides about Jallianwala bagh’s history
  6. New fountains and lightening system near the touch

This new memorial will mark as the remembrance of martyrs and their sacrifices for the country. This memorial will pave the way to enlight more and more mind towards national consciousness with a feeling of national pride. This memorial will proudly boast India’s timeless message of peaceful co-existence across the globe.
