PM Modi aims on taking India to new heights of growth by inaugurating Talcher fertilizer plant

Talcher: “Our aim is to take India to new heights of growth”, cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he unveiled a plaque to mark the beginning of the work to revive the Talcher fertilizer plant in Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and will visit poll-bound Chhattisgarh later in the day to launch a few projects in the states.

Arriving in the state of Odisha, the Prime Minister was received by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. PM Modi met and interacted with Anganwadi workers after his arrival. Laying the foundation of the Talcher fertilizer plant, PM Modi said that projects like the fertilizer plant are central to India’s growth story. This plant will use the latest technology as well.

Talcher plant is the first in India to have a coal gasification-based fertilizer unit. The plant will also be used to produce natural gas. Natural gas will contribute to the energy requirements of India. Talcher Fertiliser Plant is being developed by Talcher Fertilisers Limited, a joint venture of GAIL, Coal India Ltd, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilisers Ltd and Fertiliser Corporation of India Ltd. The plant, to be commissioned by 2022, will ensure easy availability of urea in Odisha as there is no urea plant in the state.

Asserting that this is an important step of beginning work in a fertilizer plant, PM Modi expressed happiness in fulfilling dreams that should have been fulfilled long ago.

Along with this PM Modi also said that the state of Odisha will also be benefitted with medical colleges and hospitals.

Through the UDAN scheme, the airport will bring the western Odisha on the aviation map of the country and will facilitate the regional air connectivity. PM Modi will also dedicate the Garjanbahal coal mines and the Jharsuguda-Barapali-Sardega rail link to the people of India.

The Prime Minister will also unveil a plaque to mark the commencement of coal production and transportation from Dulanga coal mines. He will then visit the Janjgir-Champa district in Chhattisgarh. He will visit an exhibition on handloom and agriculture there. Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Pendra-Anuppur third railway line and other national highways projects.
