The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an MD of a private company and a private person (running Catering Services at an Institute, Nehru Park, Chanakya Puri, New Delhi) in an on-going investigation of a case.
CBI had registered a case u/s 7 A, 8 of PC Act & 120 B of IPC against a private person( who is running Catering Services); an MD of a private company; its employee and unknown others. It was alleged that the private person, who is running catering services in an Institute at Nehru Park, Chanakya Puri, New Delhi was involved in providing CBI case related sensitive information to said MD of a private company (also FIR named accused in another case). It was further alleged that in lieu of facilitating relief and providing case related sensitive information to said MD, the private person accepted and attempted to obtain the undue advantage in installments as a motive/ reward to induce unknown public servants of CBI and use his personal influence with these public servants.
Searches were conducted at 07 places at the premises of accused at Delhi and Mumbai. Cash of Rs. 2.86 crore (approx.) from the house of private person (running Catering Services); Rs.80 Lakh (approx.) from his canteen office at Nehru Park, New Delhi; 21 watches of a foreign brand; ornaments of Rs.1.5 crore(approx) and several incriminating documents were recovered.
The said private person was produced before the Designated Court at Delhi and remanded two days police custody. The MD of a private firm was produced before the Competent Court at Mumbai and transit remand has been obtained for his further production before the Designated Court at Delhi tomorrow.
